Get involved
Our vision is to build a community where young people can discuss and debate issues relating to drugs with others and find information and help, which ultimately informs and reduces problematic use.
To do this we need YOU to get involved.
You can get involved in Between the Lines by becoming one (or more!) of the following:
Punter - the most basic way to get involved. Punters are able to check out the site, read the blog and fact sheets and basically decide whether they want to stick around and join the community.
Member - not a lot more commitment is needed to go from punter to member - but with more benefits. Joining up to BTL means that you are able to respond to blog posts, get RSS feeds of blog topics you're interested in, and get our e-news ‘The Juicy Bit’, which contains the most controversial content for the month.
Contributor - Contributions can be written, audio, video or art/photos and are published in the blog section of BTL. They can include personal experiences, an interesting news item or research, or a post on any topic related to drugs and alcohol. We're looking for a range of perspectives - so don't feel like you have to be a journalist or drug expert to contribute (though we welcome those people too). Just make them conversational and ensure written pieces are no longer than 500 words.
Contributions need to abide by the Community Guidelines. To submit a post or blog, you'll need to join. You can then submit a new post.
Community Builder - is a BTL member who is responsible for facilitating conversation, moderating posts and generally ensuring BTL is a non-judgemental space where people can listen, discuss and learn from other people’s perspectives. Community builders are members who are passionate about BTL and can commit to a minimum involvement of 4 hours a week.
Resident – These are contributors who hold a monthly residency and deep dive into a particular topic. December could be a thesis on Albert Hoffman’s brain and January a short drama series on a GHB posse in London. As a resident you can share the story in writing, video, audio or imagery. The residency will change every month.
If you are interested in becoming a community builder or resident - or if you have any feedback on how we could improve - we'd love to hear from you. Email duaj@noffs.org.au.
