School leavers all around the country were revved up to party over the weekend as part of the annual schoolies celebrations, but Queensland Police were on hand to ensure that things didn’t get too out of hand. On Sunday afternoon detectives from the State Crime Operations Command Organised Crime Group arrested a 25-year old man in Tugun on the Gold Coast for drug possession, which police have suggested was bound for schoolies week. And the size of their haul they found in his Honda CRV? Approximately 7000 ecstasy tablets along with 85 grams of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $300,000.
Detective Superintendent Gayle Hogan of the Organised Crime Group told news.com.au that the timing of the massive bust was definitely cause for concern. “It is important to acknowledge the proactive investigation and good police work that contributed to this arrest, but we cannot ignore the timing and size of this seizure,’’ he said.
“In the past we have made similar seizures where quantities of dangerous drugs were bound for Schoolies. It is definitely a concern all of these drugs may have been headed for the same destination.”

I think Schoolies can be a great time if teens are prepared to deal with consequences and know that drugs n alochol can ruin Schoolies,Schoolies is meant to be a fun time to celebrate and sadly some young people thing drinking/drug use is the only way to do that or they try something get stuck n are afraid to seek help, seeking help on schoolies is not a bad thing.
