In an article published in The Age, Geoff Munro from the Australian Drug Foundation has argued that the Victorian Government should ban alcohol advertising and sponsorship from events such as the Big Day Out.
The Big Day Out is being sponsored by five alcohol brands: Jim Beam, Jagermeister, Tooheys, Smirnoff and Strongbow.
Munro seems to argue that young people need protecting and are at risk of becoming 'marketing fodder'. He also suggests that the Big Day Out need to either remove alcohol advertising altogether or limit the festival to over 18 year olds.

What do you think? Should alcohol advertising go the way of tobacco sponsorship?
