Myth: If someone ODs on GHB, you should rub cocaine or speed into their gums
Fact: While it seems logical to reverse the effects of a depressant with a stimulant, it is not a very good idea. Depressant drugs (such as GHB) slow the heart down, while stimulants (such as cocaine) speed up heart rate. The combination may play havoc with your heart and result in heart attack.
Myth: GHB is a liquid form of ecstasy
Fact: GHB is actually a depressant, while ecstasy is a stimulant. Although GHB is sometimes called 'Liquid Ecstasy' on the street, it is actually nothing like ecstasy.
Myth: GHB is not addictive
Fact: It is both physically and psychologically addictive.
Myth: If someone takes too much GHB, they should be left to sleep it off
